Workers Unite Film Festival Season 13 October 18th to October 24th, then special events and virtual screenings through October 30th, 2024 at the Cinema Village NY

When:
October 18, 2024

Workers Unite! is thrilled to announce that our venue of the past several years, Cinema Village, has listened to our ongoing ideas about unions and joined the great labor union upsurge this past year. They just voted to unionize last month and are in final negotiations now.

The massive Labor Upsurge of 2023 was a wonder to behold as SAG-AFTRA, The Writers Guild, Nurses, the UPS Teamsters and the UAW, just to name a few of such unions, led the charge for organizing workers and proved what the results can be for direct action by organized and committed union members.  The Workers Unite Film Festival stands with all these unions and new labor groups, such as the Amazon Labor Union and the Starbucks Workers Unions across the country. We have screened some of these stories already and look forward to screening many more.

We are hard at work with dozens of brave and courageous filmmakers who have created powerful films which demonstrate that hope for a better world is still alive and progressive movements are still organizing workers, in all walks of life. BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP TO KEEP SCREENING THESE FILMS. As this election cycle heats up, with all of our unions’ very existence once again threatened by a dangerous, anti-democratic, anti-union candidate, these stories and their ability to be broadcast to the workers in our communities becomes an even more vital task. This season, our 13th, continues our move into the month of October, screening live at Cinema Village during the first week of the festival, October 18th to October 24th, then special events and virtual screenings through October 30th, 2024.

Featuring worker/labor stories from all over the U.S. and around the world, we not only screen such films but have now become a provider of progressive, pro-worker content to unions and worker groups across the country who are seeking films and content to engage their members and help convince workers that being organized into a union is better.  You can contact us at any time to help provide films of different lengths for your union trainings or special events.

But we cannot do this by ourselves.  We are asking for your continued support for the only NYC area worker-themed film festival and one of the largest of its kind in the country.  Help us reach the thousands more viewers we'd like to reach with these powerful and motivational films.  Become a Season 13 Sponsor today with the attached form.Attached is our donation form with ad specs.  Feel free to call as well with suggestions or special requests.  We can offer you space in our film festival guide, online and printed, as well as the ability to put your message right into our programs screening throughout the festival. Your logo, organizing drive message, or any message you’d like, seen by many thousands of labor activists every day (even internationally, via our online Eventive platform).
